Treacle Moon's #BeYou project

Many young people in today's society have a huge amount of pressure on their shoulders to be what society classes as normal. They are made into somebody that they are not just to be accepted by their peers. It is so easy to be somebody else around other people, you can easily lose sight of who you really are. The popularity of social media is also at the highest point, especially for young people, which also means it is now harder and harder for young people to be accepted into society and this leads to bullying, which is now also happening when the young people go home, through their phones and the internet. If everybody in the world were identical, it would be a boring place to live. I am working with Treacle Moon and  I am promoting #BeYou.

Treacle Moon's #BeYou project is about having the confidence to be exactly who you are, not what other people want you to be. It's about having the confidence to stand up and speak out and not just following the crowd. It is showing people how wonderful it is to just #BeYou. Treacle Moon are also working alongside Bullies Out, to raise awareness and funds for the amazing work they do to help victims of bullying.

Being yourself is one of the easiest things you can be. If you like different music, embrace it. If you wear different clothes to the people you know, work it.  If you don't like the latest trends, that is okay. Never be or do anything that you feel uncomfortble with, just #BeYou. When people make negative comments about you, don't think you need to change your whole personality to fit their idea of perfection. Grow from it and you can and will become stronger. So many people will love you for you.

It it okay to be yourself!

'I was taught that being myself was not only okay, but encouraged-and by being unapologetically yourself, you thrive and inspire others to thrive' - Tyler Oakley

 This project is something that needs to be talked about. If you are wondering how to get invloved you can;
Tweet @treaclemoon_UK an inspiring quote, whether you make it up or if you see one you like on the internet. Be sure to include #BeYou.
You can also post on Facebook or Instagram a picture of something that makes you, you. Whether you have a weird hobby or a unique fashion sense.
Treacle Moon also have merchandise for the #BeYou project. You can buy a wristband, a bag or a T-shirt, just like mine and wear them with pride to show you are supporting #BeYou. Again, they would love to see it on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag #BeYou.
You can also fundraise for Bullies Out through cake sales and other fundraisers.

BUY THE MERCHANDSE HERE: http://www.treaclemoon.net/beyoushop/

If you are suffering from bullying, please visit https://bulliesout.com/ for lots of information and support. Please do not hesitate to do this.

I want to see as many people as we can get supporting this so if you do anything please be sure to let me know through my social media accounts which can be found at the top of my blog in the 'Contact' tab. I will also be looking on instragram and twitter at the hashtag #BeYou to see your posts and the awareness being raised for this incredible project.

I'M ON THE AKINATOR

It is coming up for a year when I started to consistantly write this blog. I write it for fun, I don't ever write it for fame, I just love people to read it. I never think people actually take in what I write, but I'm starting to see that there are people who read every single post of mine, because as you can read from the title, this blog, me, is on the Akinator!!!!

If you are unaware of what the akinator is, it is one of those online games where 'a genie' asks you a series of questions and it guesses who you are thinking of. It is mainly famous people or it can answer 'Your mum' 'Your brother' but never with specific names. This game has been played many times by youtubers. I thought as I have this blog (even though it isn't very big), I would see if somebody has put me on there, AND IT WORKED. It guessed my tiny little blog.

I was so excited about this, because I feel as if with every month, this blog is achieving more and more every single time I post. And it also means people are liking what I write to actually know me and my blog.
I would like to say thank you to the person who thought I was good enough to be on it and also to the other people who have thought of me and played it. This is so exciting and I'm incredibly grateful.

Feel free to go over to the Akinator and play this!

Until next time

P.S. This is in no way bragging, I am just so excited about it. And this is not a paid advertorial.

Life Update : Moving to Univerisity

Writing this blog is something that took a backseat for a while, because big changes were happening in my life, so now I'm back and ready to update you!

On Saturday 26th September, I left my little hometown and moved to a city over 2 hours away all by myself. I ventured to the world of univeristy to start my degree in Adult Nursing. I was so excited for this adventure to begin.

University was so incredibly scary to begin with. I was living with 7 other people, who I'd never met before the day. I was so nervous to start with but I've settled in really well and I love it here. This is my new home. I've made a little family in my flat and met amazing people on my course. I've learnt so much in such a short space of time and I feel like I've been here for years not just a short month.

The change was scary, but good at the same time. I can't believe I'm actually here. I was homesick to start with, but after a trip home last week, I missed it at univeristy.

Never give up on your dreams because change seems scary. Go for everything you want head first. I'm Back!

Tanya Burr Cosmetics Review -- Nail Polishes

I have a bit of an addiction to the Tanya Burr Cosmetic nail polishes. The whole collection is absolutely incredible from start to finish, but nail polishes are my guilty pleasure with my ever growing collection.

Tanya Burr brought out nail polishes in her original collection alongside lipglosses and also released new ones in her  new collection in 2015 with brand new packaging, in which she also re-released old ones in the new packaging.

In Tanya's collection, there is every colour you could think of. From pinks, to reds to nudes. There is a colour that will go with every outfit. The polishes are so shiny when applied to the nails, I was so shocked. I knew that the polishes would be good quality, but it's like there is a top coat applied already with out even having to apply one.

When choosing a nail polish, I look at the names of the product because I feel as if I like it even more because of the names. With Tanya's collection, you can tell she put a lot of time and effort into thinking of perfect names, such as Duvet Day, Pick 'n' Mix and Little Duck.

The Tanya Burr Cosmetic range is incredible and I would highly recommend the nail polishes.

WOW! This is crazy!

Everyday, I log in to check my blog. To see how my most recent posts are doing and if people seem to be reading what I write about.

Every single time I log in, I have more views then previously. Yesterday, I had 700 and something page views. Today I have over 800!!!!! Wow! This is Crazy! I can't believe people take the time to read what I'm writing.

This blog was started for my own pleasure! I was writing about what interested me or what is happening in my life. People actually like my tiny blog. I know some people have more views then myself because people have popular blogs! I don't think I would ever be able to stand in a room or on a stage and speak to 800 people without having a panic attack.
I just sit at my laptop and type away and 800 people have seen this. That is insane and I couldn't be more happy of my blog because I love it so much.

Thank you for reading my blog and I hope you continue to love reading it as much as I love to writing it.

Thank you again

Body-shaming Cheryl

As The X Factor returned for it's new series at the end of August, I couldn't be more excited to see Cheryl back on the TV every week until Christmas. I have looked up to Cheryl for many, many years as a role-model and a big influence to my life.

As Cheryl stepped out on the red carpet in early July to begin filming, the media decided to take it upon themselves to print the pictures with disgusting headlines like 'Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is skinner then normal' or 'Cheryl looks thinner than ever'.

The picture above was at the first round of the X Factor auditions. A picture where Cheryl looks happy and glowing. What extremely annoyed me about the body-shaming headlines is that Cheryl was wearing a crop-top, which shows her stomach. Cheryl was clearly happy with the way she looked to wear it. The media then jumped in to make her feel like her weight isn't normal or healthy. Loose Women also took place later that week. An English panel show, which contains just WOMEN. They went on to make comments about Cheryl looking anorexic and being a bad-role model. With the Loose Women panel being females in the public eye, I would've thought they would know how much it hurts to read lies in the media about themselves. They praise how girl power should be preached and how women should stick together, but then go on to skinny shame Cheryl. Using the word 'anorexic' to describe Cheryl is not only offensive to Cheryl herself, but also to many people who suffer from anorexia which is a mental illness and should not be used as a way to describe somebody's weight.

On to how people have been saying Cheryl is a bad-role model by losing weight. Cheryl has said she has lost weight due to the loss of her father in-law recently and also partly down to stress. This is something that cannot be helped, but she has also said she is happy and healthy and is not ill in any way. The fact that the media think that people look up to Cheryl because of her weight is ridiculous. A lot of people have said Cheryl is a bad role model, in particular to young girls. Young girls actually choose their role-models, such as Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus. Each one would have had a negative story written about them at some time during their career, but young people will still look up to them. Not every young girl will look up to Cheryl. Cheryl didn't ask to be their role-model. Cheryl's weight isn't the only aspect that inspires Cheryl's fanbase. How about the fact Cheryl grew up in poverty but has made it to where she is today through determination and dedication to music? How about the fact that she makes music with inspiring lyrics and wonderful messages that help her fans in every aspect of life? How about that Cheryl has been through a lot of bad media stories with her personal life but still made it out the other side? How about Cheryl having her own charity to help young people? These are just a few of the inspirational messages that her fanbase takes from Cheryl as a role model. I do not look to Cheryl as an inspiration because she is 'body goals', I look up to Cheryl for all of the other reasons.

Since when has it ever been right to body-shame anybody. You wouldn't tell a friend they are too fat or big so why is it okay to tell somebody to go and eat. Just because Cheryl is in the public eye, she still has feelings and she is still a human being. If the media didn't mention Cheryl losing weight, would anybody else have mentioned it? People seem to have taken their opinions of Cheryl from the media and they haven't developed their own opinions. Cheryl is quite short anyway and Cheryl has never been big in size, so why is it that now people are body-shaming her? Because society thinks it's okay to do so. Society is telling young people that they can't be looked at as 'fat' or 'obese' but then criticise  Cheryl for being 'skinny'.

Cheryl isn't a bad role-model. She is a fantastic and inspiring women who I have looked up to for years and she will always be a huge influence on my life. Cheryl isn't the bad role-model. Society and the media are!

Moving away to Univerisity

In two months, I will be moving away to a different city and I will be living completely independently. This is a scary time in my life and it would be for a lot of other people at this time of year. I didn't want to write a post about my journey to university in a few months, because by that point, everyone would have already moved and some people may want advice now. I am writing this post pre-uni to also help people in a similar situation.

So the first thing that I have figured out during these few months is do not stress to much. Moving away from home for the first time or starting uni is supposed to be an exciting opportunity. I know having to pack your life up can be stressful and there are lots of questions you have about university that have not yet been answered, but there are millions of people in the exact same position. It will all be okay. Write a list of the essentials to take to university with you, research the place your staying and the university and talk to others who are also moving away to help answer your questions. Do not stress about this experience, because by the time you get their, it will no longer be exciting.

You will not need to pack your whole room and ship it off with you. There will be minimal things that you need. After doing some research about what to take, you obviously need your essentials, such as towels, bedding, pots and pans, ect. These are important to take, but if that's all you take, it won't feel much like home. Take things that remind you of home or your friends, such as pictures, items from our room that you treasure or anything else, but also remember, university rooms are not huge.

Become familiar with where you are so when you arrive, it's like you know your way around already. The university I will be at is pretty close. Everything is on one campus which is helpful. A lot of universities are all over the place, such as London universities. The accommodation could be 20 minutes away from your lectures, so I have found it helpful to look at the area around the university to find where things area. It's also good to have an idea of where the shops and supermarkets are and which are close to you so when you arrive and need to do your shopping, you'll have an idea. This will make it less daunting.

If you would like any other advice, leave a comment below and I'll be sure to answer them. I will be uploading more university related posts over the next month or so, so keep an eye out for them. Good luck with your journey to university.

An adventure awaits you

Life With A Sprinkle Of Glitter - Book Review

I'm sure a lot of you have heard, Louise Pentland (AKA Sprinkle Of Glitter) has brought out a book today! It's called Life with a Sprinkle of Glitter If you don't know who Louise Pentland is she is a youtuber and a blogger who I have been a follower of hers for years. (I'll leave all her links down below). She was actually the first youtuber I ever came across and also inspired this blog.

The book itself is quite small, almost journal like, but I loved the size. It isn't too big or heavy to carry around. The cover is so beautiful and I saw it straight away in the shop.

I don't want to give too much of the content away because you definitely need to go and buy it. There is a chapter for everything in this book, from shopping to surviving education. If you've been watching Louise for a while, you'll know she has such a brilliant sense of humour and she shows that throughout the books. When you read it, you can hear Louise talking to you.
I love a good quote, especially one that makes you feel good, and throughout there are numerous pages. I love this feature so much.

If I could describe the design of the book in one word it would be 'pretty.' The backgrounds of the pages are glitter, or little tiny hearts or fairy lights. There are little cartooned black and white drawings and the headers are in a lovely font. There is such lovely photography done for the book as well.

You can clearly see how hard Louise has worked for this book to be something really special, that anyone would enjoy. I would highly recommend it.

Life with a Sprinkle of Glitter and is available now. - WHsmith- £6.49 Waterstones- £12 down to £6.49 and it is available in supermarkets as well. (UK Only)

Moving On

It's coming to that time of the year where people are starting new chapters and new adventures in their lives. Over the last few weeks, there have been a lot of changes and over the next few weeks, there will be even more changes to come.

I have left college completely now, I will never be going back as a student again. I left with an incredible grade after two years. I feel so sad about leaving, but I also feel excited for what is to come. Leaving college has been quite difficult because I have met some incredible people and made some amazing memories which I will never forget for my whole life. When you're in a situation where you have made an attachment to a place or to the people, it is harder to move on.

It's extremely scary to leave a place and to move on and carry on with your life. But leaving doesn't mean forgetting and it doesn't mean you have to lose contact with the people you have met along the way. When it comes to a time where you have to start moving on with your life, you're never ready, and that's what makes it scary, but it's going to be worth it, so don't hold back, just go for it. If you spend the whole time thinking about how scary things are or how you don't want to leave or move on, you'll only be holding yourself back.

Another big change happening to a lot of people at the moment is moving out. Whether that be to university or they are just getting a place of their own. I'm going in 3 months and I am scared. All my family and friends are here and I'll be further away. It can be scary, but you have to think of how exciting it will also be and how much of an amazing opportunity it is for you.

Moving on isn't the end. It's an exciting new beginning.

A quick hello and a thank you

Hi everyone that tunes in to my blog.

I have been absent for some time and I have missed blogging so much. I have had a lot to do, with finishing college over the past few weeks to spending time with friends.
So I'm sorry for being inconsistent with my blog BUT it's now the summer holidays for me before I go to university, which means lots of time to come up with new blog ideas and get my fingers going.

Also, when I last tuned into my blog, I had roughly 300 views on my blog. That was crazy. Imagine standing in a room of 300 people.

When I logged in this morning, I discovered that 300 had doubled to 600+. Over 600 people have read my posts or visited my blog. That is crazy, I never started this blog with the intention to have that many people see it, I thought 20 was a lot.

So thank you for reading my blog and make sure you comment if you like what you read or want to contact me. I will be back with more posts over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for those. Also send me blog ideas if you have anything you'd like me to talk about.

So I'm back and I'll speak soon with a new blog post.

Freckles

I am covered in Freckles. On my face, on my arms, on my shoulders, everywhere. I used to hate them. I used makeup to try and cover them up. I used so much foundation and concealer but nothing got rid of them.

Summer was the worst month, as the sun makes your freckles come out even more. I was so insecure about them and I just wanted to get rid of them.

This isn't the case anymore. I no longer hate my freckles. For one, people just get used to them. But I soon realised that other people actually wanted to have freckles.

I was walking into college last week, and there was two girls walking in front of me. One of them (freckle free) turned to her friend and said 'I wish I had freckles, I love them so much.'

I also did a bit of research and I found out that your can actually buy a freckle pencil. You just dot it all over your face to make it look as if you have a 'sun-kissed look'.

I know a lot of people hate that they have natural freckles, but people are going out to buy a product that makes them have freckles. They want this looks that other people have. They wanted something that I have naturally. That I was born with.

So just because you are born with a mark on your skins, whether it be birthmarks, freckles or anything else, it doesn't make you any different. It definitely doesn't make you ugly or any less beautiful. Other people may be wanting this element of you that you have.

Never be ashamed of the marks on your skin

17 things I had learnt by the time I was 17

I am going to be 18 in 3 and a bit months. I came up with this blog post after seeing a quote picture. I thought I would write about 17 important things I had learnt by the time I had turned 17.

  1. You should ask for help if you need it, and there should always be people who are willing to help you.
  2. Only say sorry if you are in the wrong or if that person deserves your apology. If you don't need to say sorry, don't.
  3. The person that you heard talking about you or making comments about you today? It may have hurt and it may seem like a big deal now, but you may never have to see them again at one point in your life.
  4. People won't always forgive you. If you make a mistake, people will go out of their way to make sure you seem miserable. Don't give them the satisfaction. It will only make you stronger.
  5. Remember your family are all getting older too. Don't argue with them often.
  6. Things will get better. It may not seem like it now, but in a few years, you'll see.
  7. Read. Read every book you can. Feel the magic when you get transported to another world with fictional characters that you feel as if they are your best friends.
  8. Don't always do what everybody else is doing. You don't need to copy others if you don't like what they're doing or you don't think what they're doing is right.
  9. Not everybody will like you, but that's okay, because you won't always like everyone else either.
  10. It's okay to cry. Cry your heart out if you need too.
  11. Don't let others determine your future. Write your own story.
  12. Be yourself and love your self..
  13. Be healthy and don't start crazy diets. You're still growing and developing and your body is beautiful.
  14. Always try your best. If you know you have done the best you can, nobody can bring you down about it.
  15. Don't be afraid of what is to come
  16. Walk with your head held high. Show people that they don't own you, even though they think they do.
  17. Don't cry or worry about ANYTHING that you can't change.

Make a list and Check it twice! -- Feel Good Friday

I really enjoyed writing and editing my Feel Good Friday post last week, so I thought I'd do another and I may make it into a regular post.

I got the inspiration for this from Louise Pentland (SprinkleOfGlitter). She has been creating a list everyday on her Facebook page about all the little things that have happened during the day that have made her happy.
I LOVE this idea so so much. I think we should appreciate what makes us happy during the day. And I think we should read it again and again so we remember to be grateful for the little things and to make us that little bit happier.

So, my list of what has made me happy today:
  1.  I realised one of my assignments was actually really easy.
  2. I tried my mash potato with a bit of mustard in. I am never usually one for trying my food in a different way, but today, I did.
  3. I had nothing to do today, so I put on my comfy clothes and lounged.
  4. I did a bit of pre online shopping before pay day tomorrow.
  5. I found lots I liked online.
  6. I listened to some old music (not really old but probably 2008ish) and it took me back to some good, old times.
  7. I am going to London tomorrow, which will actually be the day you are reading this. But I love London so that gave me a happy and exciting feeling.
  8. And lastly, I genuinely felt really happy today. It's quite easy to get out of bed and not be in the best of moods. I have those days the same as everybody else does, but today, today was a good day!
So my list of  what made me happy today is complete. And after reading it through a few times, I can actually see how amazing and wonderful my day really was.

Let me know what made you happy today. Or let me know if you try writing the list of what makes you happy on a particular day. I find these really work if you aren't having the best of days and it feels like everything is going wrong.

I Hope you have had the best Friday ever!

10 years time

This blog post is a respond to Will Darbyshire's video Twenty Two.

If you haven't seen this video yet, Will talks about 10 years from now and asks the question 'Where do you think you're going to be in 10 years time?'

That got me thinking, where am I going to be? 10 years from now, I will be almost 28 years old. I am going to university this year, meaning I would have graduated with in 10 years. I will be a qualified nurse and I would have been for 7 years by that point.

I want to have my own flat or house and live in my own space. I want to be able to buy my own things with the money that I earn. I maybe want to be in a relationship at least (probably without kids at that age.)

10 years is a long time away and it's extremely hard to think of. I tend to think of, where will I be in a year or even a few months? 6 months from now? I would have moved out and I'll be about 3 weeks into my first year at university. How many people that I know now, will I still be in contact with in 6 months? Hopefully everyone, but life doesn't always turn out the way it's planned. Will I be surviving on my own? Will I be listening to a different kind of music? I would have met new people and made new friends.

I think the point of this post is, even in a few months, everything can change. So much can be different. But change is good. You have to have confidence during change. Change is healthy and can be the best part of your life.

Take it and embrace it.

Top 10 Perfumes

I love perfumes. All kinds. I love the bottles and the packaging and the different smells people can create. So here are my top 10 perfumes!

10. Meow By Katy Perry. I think this is either her 1st or 2nd perfume. The scent it very sweet and you can smell the vanilla but it is also really fresh and I love it

9. Taylor By Taylor Swift. This is a very beautiful, summery scent.

8.  Be Delicious: Fresh Blossom by DKNY. I think this was the first perfume I ever got, but it's still one of my favourites.

7. Christina Aguilera Eau De Parfum. I think everybody has one perfume that reminds them of a specific time. This reminds me of Summer 2011 when I went on holiday and it has a really lovely scent.

6. This perfume can no longer be brought and it doesn't have a big name to it, but it is one of my favourites and the scent it just heavenly. It is Next- Paradise Tropical.

5. Someday By Justin Bieber. I originally brought this just because it had Justin's name on it, but it such a nice perfume.

4. Dolce by Dolce and Gabbana. This is one of the most recent perfumes I have purchased and I brought it when I was in New York. The packaging and bottle is just amazing and the scent is really fresh and floraly and I love it.

3. This is a body mist, but it is definatley in my top 10. It is in the Zoella Beauty range and it is called Blissful Mistful. The whole range has the same scent but it is so beautiful and light and I love the whole range.

2. I don't actually own this perfume, but my Mum does and i love it. It Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I know he has brought a lot of the daisy collection scents out, but the original is my favourite, although they all smell amazing.

1. My top perfume ever is Stormflower by Cheryl. This is literally my favourite perfume ever. It just reminds me of summer and it is so fresh and the bottle is so pretty and I think it is one that everyone should have in their collection

I hope this has helped you if you are trying to find a lovely perfume and I'm really bad at describing smells so  I apologise.

The Glam Guide By Fleur DeForce - Review

Fleur DeForce has recently written a book. I have watched Fleur for many years on youtube and also read her blog often, so this was very exciting news for me.
The book is called 'The Glam Guide.' It's very hard to specifically say what the book is about, because it focuses on many different topics, which I really like.

Fleur is a beauty blogger and youtuber, so naturally, the majority of the book is about hair and beauty. She talks about what products work well for different coloured eyes to how to make your own face masks. She also wrote about skincare, hairstyles and how to do a perfect manicure. There are so many different topics in the book, there is something for everyone.

I was very unsure how the book would be styled and what the layout would be like, but I personally love it. Fleur's book has a lot of drawing style pictures, instead of photographs, which I think is a very creative idea and it looks very effective.

As much as I love the beauty side of the book, there is also a big chapter on self-confidence, body image and positive thinking. I found this chapter very helpful for certain aspects of my life. But I think this would help somebody even if they are only having an odd bad day. She mentions how a lot of people of social media requested a chapter like this. I like that Fleur has added chapters that her viewers and followers would want to see.

I love Fleur's book and you can tell she has worked extremely hard in order to make a perfect product that even if people have never heard of her, it would attract their attention and they would enjoy it.
It is definitely worth the money and I think everyone needs a book like Fleur's.

You can purchase  The Glam Guide in Whsmith which is £7.49 at the moment and Waterstones it is £14.99.

Don't Let It Bring You Down- A Post About Anxiety

For a long time, I have been very closed off about feelings I get when I'm anxious. I haven't actually told anybody how bad it used to get. Anxiety and stress take over a lot of peoples lives and it can be scary and cause different emotions during the time.
I wasn't going to do a blog post about this, but even if I help one person, that is more than I can ask for.

My anxious feelings first started when I was about 13. I was always an extremely shy child, which progressed on to my teenage years too. It was during the summer holidays when this started. I think I left my house 1 or 2 times during that 6 week period. The feeling of leaving my house made me feel nauseous and as if there was a knot in my stomach. I wasn't sure what these feeling were. Nobody had ever spoke about anxiety at school before so it was scary. It got to the point of not sleeping because I had a lot of different emotions whizzing around in my head. I felt a pounding in my chest, I thought my heart would break through. I didn't want to go out and see people I knew. For a lot of people, this can be because they fear they are going to be judged by other people. I think this was defiantly the case I was in. At the time, I was thinking 'Everybody gets anxious, this is normal.' I kept it to myself.

When school began again, I used to get up and get dressed into my school uniform. I went downstairs about 8.00am. I used to leave my house at around 8:15am. I was 14 by this time. (I have a summer birthday). I remember for about the first month of school, I used to cry everyday about how much I hated it and didn't want to go. I used to get to the school gate and I felt as if I would pass out at any second. Anxiety can effect people in different ways. With mine, I stopped eating. I felt pushed out a lot at school. I thought this would help people to accept me and also and nausea ruined my appetite. I was never overweight. I was a healthy weight. But the thoughts in my brain made me feel as if it would help. I lost a lot of weight. It also came from the fear of people seeing me eat. I ended up fainting during a PE lesson. (Which I didn't complain about at the time, I hated PE anyway). That's when I had to begin eating properly again, which brought back the pounding of my heart and the dizziness.

It took me a while to learn how to cope with the anxiety. I'm 17 now and I have left school. I still get the feelings sometimes, but it's not as common now. I didn't go to a school that openly helped people with these sort of issues. If you are going through feelings of anxiety, there are a lot of people that can help you. The first step is talking. If you can't do that, self-help is a good way forward. A few years back, I made a positivity book. I wrote quotes and sayings that kept me positive when I wasn't feeling good about myself. I still pick it up from time to time when I need a pick me up. Find remedies that are right for you, whether that be drinking lots of water or taking deep breaths while counting to ten. Try anything and everything until you find the right choice.

Always know that you aren't alone in these situations and don't let it bring you down. Keep your head up and keep going. It will be okay in the end, and if it isn't okay yet, it will be, give it time.

January Favourites

January has been one crazy start to the year. And it has also been a month of many favourites of mine to come to light.

My beauty favourite of this month has been the Maybelline colour 24 hour tattoo Gel-cream eyeshadow in the shade Pink Gold (65). I saw Tanya Burr buy this in her recent drug store haul on youtube. I thought the colour looked so beautiful and it really is and I love it. - Boots, £4.99

My hair favourite of this month is Lee Stafford's treatment for hair that never grows past a certain length. I always see girls saying that want longer hair. Not only has it helped my hair to grow to its maximum length but it also keeps your hair in great condition. - Boots, £8.49

My favourite clothing item this month has been my black and gold cutout boots from boohoo.com. I brought these are few months ago, but have recently found my love for them. They are so comfy and also look really nice, whether for during the day or for an evening event. - I think this item is now unavailable, but hopefully they'll be back in stock soon.
I am a massive bookworm. I read a lot, but my favourite book of this month has been Eleanor and Park, by Rainbow Rowell. I was so excited to start reading this book. I laughed, I cried and I didn't put it down. It was one of those books when you want to finish it to see what happens at the end, but you don't want it to end. I'm not going to talk to much about it because there may be a book review coming soon!! - Waterstones, £7.99

Lastly, my favourite movie of the month. I have been getting into musicals a lot recently and there have been musicals I have re-fell in love with such as Annie and The Sound Of Music. But I have a new musical love which is Les Misérables. I feel like I'm extremely behind with this film, because it came out nearly 3 years ago. I thought I'd give it ago. (Yes, 2 years later) AND I LOVED IT. Even if you do not know a lot about the French Revolution, it is still worth a watch, because it's about love, passion and sacrifice. My next stop is seeing it on stage! - HMV, £5.99

Let me know what your favourite items have been this month and what you recommend.

REAL TECHNIQUE BRUSHES

I'm sure a lot of people have heard about Real Technique makeup brushes. They are sold in Superdrug and boots in the UK and also online for other countries as well. I have used these for several months now with my makeup and I just think the quality of the brushes are great.

They are created by Sam and Nic Chapman. If you want to get more information, they have twitter accounts which are @Pixiwoos and @Nixiepixi. They also have a youtube channel, pixiwoo.

I have 3 sets of these brushes now and one odd brush too.

The first set I brought was the Core set. This has four brushes with the main essential brushes you would need for your everyday makeup. It comes with the buffer Brush, contour brush, detailer brush and pointed foundation brush. I use the buffer brush for my blusher, the contour brush for my concealer and the foundation brush for my rimmel foundation. The detailer brush I use for the Stay, Don't Stray benefit product on my eyelids.

The next set I have is the duo-fibre set, which I got for Christmas. This comes with a face brush, a contour brush and the eye brush. I love this set so much. The duo-fibre bristles just make putting on makeup feel so easy and effortless.

The last set I have is the Nic's Picks set. This comes with five brushes and three exclusive brushes. It has another duo-fibre face brush, an eyeliner brush, a cheek brush, a base shadow brush and an angled shadow brush. Again, I love this set a lot. I use the eye shadow brushes the most. They are great with powder and cream shadows. But the whole set is amazing.

The last single brush I have is the retractable lip brush. This is great for applying lip product and it also comes with a lid so it wont get your makeup bag messy.

These sets are perfect for if you are just starting with makeup or have been doing makeup for years. They make the application quick, easy and simple and I would highly recommend the Real Technique Brushes.

They also have a new collection out in boots, which are the bold metals and they look so beautiful and cannot wait to purchase some.

Also they have an online shop; http://realtechniques.com/shop-collection#!/

I hope you love them as much as I do.

New York City 2014

In October 2014, I made my way to the Big Apple. This was a dream come true as I have wanted to visit for years. I have seen many pictures of New York, but I was hoping it lived up to my expectations. It certainly did.

We headed to Central Park, which was so amazing. You see it in movies but it was very different. I didn't realise it was so HUGE! They were even filming an episode of a TV show while we were there as well. (It was Forever if you were wondering. Apparently it was only shown for about 30 seconds, but it was cool). Central Park isn't just grass and trees, there is a whole map of different locations through the park. I loved the carousel and the Alice in Wonderland statue, and the skyline views were so pretty.

Time Square was one of the main places I wanted to visit. It was amazing. The lights and the billboards and the skyscrapers and the shops. I loved every minute of it. I'd say my favourite place in Times Square was either MAC or Macy's.

Fifth Avenue is the more expensive side New York, with shops such as Prada, Dior and Chanel. But I had to visit Tiffany's. (Breakfast at Tiffany's is my favourite movie.) Who knew it has SIX floors?!?! I was in heaven and couldn't resist buying a necklace while I was there.

We did a lot more in New York such as The Statue of Liberty and Rockefeller Centre, but it was the best trip of my life. If you ever get the opportunity to go. do not pass up the offer.

P.S. Sorry for picture quality, these were taken on my phone. x
